How do YOU define Success?

Everyone wants to be successful but the image and the meaning of success is very different for different people. It is crucial though that before you start seeking success your clearly discover your definition of success. Remember, it must be your definition. Don’t fall into the trap of pursuing someone else’s “Success”. You and you alone should decide what’s the meaning of success to YOU. And the good news is that once you commit yourself to being “successful” (whatever it means to you), your life will never look and feel the same.

For some people success is about making a lot of money or building a big business, for others it may be about raising a family, or about making other people happy or improving their quality of life. Or maybe success is about developing loving and caring relationships or contributing to your community. Some will feel successful when they acquire more knowledge or life experiences, or maybe when they solve a really important problem, or contribute to a greater global cause.

Yes, accumulating more money, assets and status is considered by many as being successful, but you can also measure success by the amount of happiness you experience in your daily life. And happiness and joy may come from being able to create something new, or acquire love, knowledge, or friends. Or maybe Success to you is about feeling fulfilled, or about doing your best and being the best you can with what you have. Maybe it is about utilizing all your potential, skills and gifts, developing yourself and making an impact.

Discovering your definition of “Success” will help you clarify your purpose and direction in life and will encourage you setting and pursuing meaningful goals.
